Calendula (Calendula officinalis), also known as pot marigold, is an annual flower that blooms regularly through the growing season. Native to the Mediterranean, calendula got its name because it seems to bloom with the calendar. Calendula is used for cuts, scrapes, wounds, bruises and insect bites. Calendula is antiseptic and antifungal and contains flavonoids and linoleic acid which both help fight inflammation and helps to ease muscle spasms.
